Emmanuel John Stephanakis started his legal practice in 1981, representing mainly the interests of worldwide marine insurers, on whose behalf he got involved in a good number of ship casualties investigation, proceedings, litigation both locally and overseas, etc.
In 1984, Emm.J.Stephanakis joined forces with Eleftherios Aggelos Vourvachis, one of the top Greek litigating lawyers, both before the civil and criminal courts, and their cooperation flourished almost till the latter's early retirement in 2000.
